As the creator of the Mario franchise, Miyamoto is considered the ultimate connoisseur of all things the famous plumber, which is why IGN recently asked him when we might see a new Mario game.
“We’re still working on Mario, so when it comes time to share information, we will,” Miyamoto replied. While it’s obvious the former developer knows something, it’s good to hear that Miyamoto is confirming that Nintendo is developing the next adventure for its best-known IP.
With the release of Super Mario Bros. : The Movie in the spring, some thought a video game announcement or launch might coincide with Mario’s arrival on the big screen. However, it looks like the schedule hasn’t been squared and we’ll have to wait a while longer to see another Mario game.
