Minecraft’s next update will add one of the prettiest areas we’ve ever seen in Mojang’s building game, with gorgeous pink cherry blossoms and a whole new type of wood to build on, thanks to a new Minecraft biome. It was previously unclear if an additional environment would be added to the Game Pass mainstay, but as we get closer to the release date of Minecraft 1.20, it looks like Mojang has committed to polishing an additional visual.
The new cherry blossom biome is coming to Minecraft Overworld with update 1.20, which we plan to release around summer. The trees of the same name bring a big fluffy and extremely pink overhaul to the world of Minecraft and will attract many peaceful mobs like bees, pigs and sheep. You’re going to want the best Minecraft shaders to really pop this new biome on your screen.
Along with sprucing up the Minecraft map, the new biome will introduce an additional source of wood. Cutting and harvesting cherry blossoms gives you an additional crafting ingredient, with Mojang offering a unique hanging sign that will also be featured in 1.20.
And if you want to spread the pink color, you can collect cherry blossom saplings and plant them wherever you want. Update 1.20 will also add a new Minecraft Archeology feature, allowing you to carefully and carefully dig for hidden treasures that can be collected and used for decorations.
