There was another major takeover showdown in the EU today, as Microsoft, Sony, Nintendo and other companies come together to discuss Activision Blizzard’s Xbox deal. One of those other companies is Nvidia, which just struck a deal with Microsoft to bring Xbox games to the “GeForce Now” streaming service.

Microsoft has signed a 10-year deal with Nvidia to bring Xbox’s catalog of cloud streaming titles to GeForce Now. Moreover, the deal is effective. immediatelymeaning the current Xbox lineup will be available on the service immediately.

This deal also means that if the Activision Blizzard deal goes through, Xbox will also bring the ActiBlizz titles to Nvidia’s service, at least for the agreed term of 10 years. Here’s what Xbox boss Phil Spencer had to say on the go:

“Xbox remains committed to giving people more choices and finding ways to expand the way people play,”

This partnership will help expand NVIDIA’s catalog of titles to include games like Call of Duty, while giving developers more ways to offer games for streaming. We’re excited to give gamers more ways to play the games they love.”

Nvidia also weighed in on the deal. As you can imagine, the company seems quite happy that its service will be bolstered by Xbox games here and now, and potentially Activision Blizzard titles in the near future. Here is a statement from Nvidia’s senior vice president of GeForce, Jeff Fisher:

“Combining Xbox’s incredibly rich catalog of first-party games with the high-performance streaming capabilities of GeForce NOW will propel cloud gaming into a mainstream offering that will appeal to gamers of all levels of interest and experience.”

Through this partnership, more of the world’s most popular titles will now be available in the cloud with just one click, for millions more players.”

Earlier today, Microsoft also signed a similarly long deal with Nintendo. The Japanese company will host Activision Blizzard’s upcoming titles on its platform for 10 years, if the deal goes through, as Xbox pledges to bring more of its games to rival systems.
