A recent Windows 11 update caused Red Dead Redemption 2 to crash. Efforts are currently underway to determine the source of the problem.

Owners of Red Dead Redemption 2, running on Windows 11, have not had it easy in recent days. A recent OS update, designated KB5023774, caused those running the 21H2 build to lose the ability to play the Rockstar Games title..

According to a bug report posted on Microsoft’s website, players using Windows 11 21H2 may experience issues when trying to run Red Dead Redemption 2. The issues manifest themselves in a fairly simple way: pressing the “Play” button in the Rockstar Games Launcher (i.e. the application required to run the game) has no effect.

We must admit that this is a rather annoying problem, even if it only concerns those who work on the old version of W11. As if that weren’t enough, at this point there is no surefire solution for it. As a temporary solution to the problem, Microsoft offers to update Windows to version 22H2. At the same time, it was pointed out that the source of the error is being determined. As soon as it is detected, an announcement will be published.
