Publisher JanduSoft, in conjunction with developer 9FingerGames, has announced Metroidvania game Zapling Bygone for To change. It will be available on March 9, 2023.
The main hook of the title is that players defeat enemies and steal their abilities by using their skulls and absorbing their consciousness into your hive mind. You can find more information below.
All abilities are obtained by killing a boss and stealing its skull. These abilities allow you to travel the world in new and exciting ways, as well as help you destroy your opponents.
Explore a vast, dangerous and interconnected world with just you and your skulls for company. Reveal each biome in the world by collecting the skulls of the people who lived there.
Explore and conquer 6 biomes, each with their own enemies, bosses and backstory. By using the skulls of your enemies, you will access their memories and unlock comic strips depicting important events in their lives. The skulls will even talk to you throughout your adventure.
