Riot Forge’s Mageseeker: A League of Legends story follows in the footsteps of its hit turn-based RPG, Ruined King, and delves into the story of conflicted Demacian sorcerers Sylas and Lux, and the ever-present brother of the latter, Garen.

For those unaware of their League of Legends history: I don’t blame you, there are plenty of champions. Luckily, Riot Forge (an independent subsidiary of Riot Games) helped us dive into many Runeterran stories, giving us windows into some of the most popular MOBA champions.

After the success of Ruined King: A League of Legends Story, the studio is back with Mageseeker. Described as a “high-speed 2D pixel action RPG”, players step into the shoes of Lux and Garen’s nemesis, Sylas, and are tasked with gathering an army of wizards to crush Demacia and its tyranny a once and for all.

Inspired by Riot’s popular “Lux” comic (a must-read if you haven’t read it yet), I’m insanely excited to get my hands on this game.

Mageseker: A League of Legends Story will be released in Spring 2023 – But he is not alone. Previously Viewed Projects CONVERGENCE (featuring Arcane favorite Ekko) and The Song of Nunu (featuring, well, Nunu) will also be released in Summer and Fall 2023, respectively.

As an avid fan of all lore, 2023 is shaping up to be pretty sweet. The Lux comic came out when I was at the peak of my LoL grind and was given to me by a Secret Santa later that year. I’d be lying if I said I didn’t spam the Lux support as a result – ironically I picked up the Cosmic Lux from a chest around the same time, which gave me even more reason to flex. It’s one of my favorite stories of all time and I can’t wait to replay it from Sylas’ perspective.

In the meantime, follow the current League of Legends patch notes to stay informed, as well as our LoL tier list to ensure you maximize your chances of winning.
