Mageseeker: A League of Legends Story is a new action-RPG that documents one of the most tense conflicts in franchise history.

Announced today after leaking last month, Mageseeker is an action-RPG centered on Sylas, a wizard living in the universal realm of Demacia, where his dramatic escape from prison sparks a conflict between the Crown and an army of users. outlaw magic. It’s a story that’s been documented in League of Legends trailers as well as an official Marvel Comics collaboration, but much more will be fleshed out with this game.

Mageseeker is part of Riot Forge, a publishing arm that works with independent developers to expand the world of League of Legends. So far, the scheme has brought to life Ruined King, a party-based RPG on (one of League of Legends’) Avengers-level threats, and Hextech Mayhem, a fast-paced game.

The game itself comes from Digital Sun, whose previous game Moonlighter was a well-received start. An ARPG with rogue-lite elements, it tasked you with finding new owners for items salvaged from your dungeons in your own shop. In our Moonlighter review, we loved it: Sam said it absolutely nailed its gameplay loop, and now I feel like maybe I should try it myself.

I won’t have much time if I try to get ahead of Mageseeker, as it’s slated for release in Spring 2023. It’ll be followed this summer by Convergence, an Ekko-centric 2D platformer that Arcane fans may remember. -being from the Netflix show and Song of Nunu in the Autumn. Both games will be coming to PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X, Xbox One, PC, and Nintendo Switch.
