Bloober Team announced an approximate release date for Layers of Fears, and in the process changed the game’s title to one closer to a “name cherished” by fans of the original.

The Bloober team has made an interesting decision regarding their next game. From now on second continuation A layers of fear it’s called… also layers of fear. So far, the developer has promoted his new work under the title layers of fears (for example, with a trailer in August 2022).

The procedure itself is not unusual, but in this case the application seems a bit strange. Usually the developers want to indicate that the new installment of the series is something different from the previous games. This can mean a complete reboot of the series or a new chapter in its story, sometimes with significant gameplay differences. This was the case, for example, of the penultimate installments of the God of War and Doom series.

Similar motives may have guided the Polish developers. However, in a post on Blood The Bloober team explained that the reason for the title change was feedback from fans, who reportedly “liked the original name”.

The trailer that aired during the IGN Fan Fest 2023 event also revealed another much more important piece of information about the game: the approximate release date. layers of fear It will be released in June 2023. The game will be coming to PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S.

The description of the trailer also states that the set with the game will include the previous two parts of the seriesthe Inheritance DLC and the new DLC called The Final Note, which will allow fans to see the events of the first installment from a different perspective.
