The long march of the eighth opus towards its premiere

We have been waiting for a new installment of the series for a long time – the previous one, namely The Settlers 7: Paths to a Kingdom, was released in 2010. The next one was initially announced in 2018 and was scheduled for release. for fall 2019.

After that, however, the project suffered one delay after another. Eventually, he completely disappeared from the radar for a long time. Coming out of development hell, it turned out that the writers’ vision had undergone major changes.

The game the publisher forgot

The upcoming release is causing a lot of concerns among the fans of the brand. The impressions of the first version available a year ago were not good. On top of that, the game’s publisher, Ubisoft, hasn’t put much effort into advertising the game. In the past few months, the project’s marketing has been completely dropped. Just yesterday, the developers posted a new video as a launch trailer.

The publisher’s approach to The Settlers: New Allies is best illustrated by the status on the game’s official website, where the last article was posted in March last year.

We are concerned that such an action by Ubisoft is due to the poor quality of the game. The publisher may have decided that after so many years of work, they were tired of pumping resources into a doomed project. to failure and decided to release it regardless of its condition. We hope otherwise, but things are not looking good.
