KONAMI announced that the smartphone application “Powerful Pro Baseball: Eikan Nine (tentative)” will be released in the summer of 2023.
Eikan Nine” is a popular mode in the “Powerful Pro Baseball” series in which players aim to win the Koshien championship as a high school baseball manager.
The player only gives practice instructions and tactical instructions during games as a manager, and the game is a high school baseball simulation game without any action elements.
In recent years, the game has been used in the “Niji-sanji Koshien” broadcast by Vtubers, in which teams that have trained their players in “Eikou Nine” play against each other. The 2022 finals of the same distribution has become a popular content, with archived videos receiving more than 3.42 million views (as of May 10, 2023).
The mobile version of “Powerful Pro Baseball Eikan Nine (tentative)” will be released in the summer of 2023 with free basic play (with item charges). A home video game version is also planned for later distribution.
It will also be the first in the series that can be played cross-platform on home video game consoles and smartphones.
This will be the first “Pawapuro” game for smartphones in about nine years, since “JIKKYOU PAWAFURU PUROYAKYU” (a.k.a. “Pawapuro App”; distribution began in December 2014), which was released as an independent Success Mode for smartphones. Let’s wait and see how it turns out.
