We know that Respawn Entertainment has been working on three new Star Wars games for over a year now. One of them is the sequel to Fallen Order – Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, the release of which is just around the corner. The other two projects are a strategy game and a first-person shooter.

While little is known about the latter two as of yet, job advertisements posted on Respawn Entertainment’s website may give us some clues as to the shape of the upcoming games. They show that the new Star Wars FPS can take inspiration from classics from years ago, like Dark Forces or Jedi Knight.

Some hints of what the new Star Wars game will look like have surfaced in announcements from a lead scout or lead cinematic artist.

In cooperation with Lucasfilm, the Star Wars FPS team is developing a new AAA FPS set in the Star Wars galaxy. Inspired by classic titles such as Dark Forces and Jedi Knight: Dark Forces 2, our story-driven single-player game is developed from the ground up using the power of Unreal Engine 5. We combine this inspiration and technology with the experience of Respawn in creating the best shooters to deliver an all-new experience our players will love.”

Recall that in January we reported to you that job ads had appeared, suggesting that the new FPS Star Wars would offer a multiplayer mode. This, along with recent reports, may already paint a picture of what fans can expect.

The rest remains in the realm of conjecture. We have to wait for the official announcements of the study.
