CD Project Red The Witcher Sirius Project, which is said to be a multiplayer game, appears to have been restarted. The game is (or was) in development at The Molasses Flood, an American studio that CD Projekt RED acquired in 2021.

Fans waiting for news of The Witcher’s multiplayer release date are disappointed

CD Projekt RED announced on Monday that it must take into account “depreciation” for “expenses incurred in connection with development work related to the Sirius project”.

The studio added that the decision was made after evaluating the scope and “commercial potential of the original concept” and ongoing work on a “new framework” for the Sirius project.

In other words, the game seems to have been reset and is back on the drawing board.

It is unknown if the Sirius project is still in development at The Molasses Flood or if CD Projekt RED has taken it over.

Earlier this year, CD Projekt RED posted job openings for The Molasses Flood, specifically looking for a multiplayer designer with a passion for The Witcher universe. Although the studio has yet to officially detail Project Sirius, it looks very much like a multiplayer game, or at least one with multiplayer elements.

In any case, the release date of The Witcher Project Sirius seems a long way off.
