The Sims 4 has been around for a long time, but just like life, it’s constantly changing with updates that add new features, items, and interactions to the game. Infant Update is just one of many updates the game has received over the years and it brings many new features involving children to discover. Of course, with all the game’s add-ons costing between $10 and $40, it’s easy to wonder if the Sims 4 Infant upgrade is free. This guide will give you an answer.

Is the Sims 4 Kids update free?

There are plenty of add-on packs for The Sims 4 that let you access new areas, get extra clothes, and even let your Sims experience an exclusive lifestyle. The Kids Update for Sims 4 released on March 14, and like previous base game updates, it’s free for everyone. When you launch EA Launcher on your PC or start the game on your console, the update download will start automatically. Be prepared as the size of the update is around 10 gigabytes, so it may take a while to download depending on your internet speed.

The update is a decent size as it has a lot of additions to the base game that involve babies and prepares the game for the Growing Together update which will be released on March 16. Thanks to the Baby Update, you will now be able to see your Sims’ children roaming around the house. Your Sims will also be able to interact with the babies and perform actions like breastfeeding and bottle feeding. Babies will also be able to interact with pets in your home.

Perhaps the biggest addition of the update is the ability to create babies in the character creator. Now you can conceive the babies in your family and give them traits that determine their behavior around the house. There’s also the addition of Science Babies which can be ordered from you and arrive on short notice, so be prepared for their arrival.
