laptop person 3 it’s basically my ideal type of otome game. Lots of great characters are in it. You get a light life simulator to experience. There are RPG elements! The only thing that would be better on my mind is to take Tokimeki Memorial Girls Sidelocate it and throw some Arabian’s Lost: The Engagement of the Desert excuse to enter a dungeon. I will be ready. But there’s one thing it doesn’t do that I’d like. As the female lead walks laptop person 3 it adds Junpei as a social link, it doesn’t add it as a romance option, and it’s still pretty sad.

Understandable, sure. Spoilers aside, there are some plot points that would make it difficult to implement to be sure. The fact that Junpei is even a social link for Kotone (the heroine’s default name) in laptop person 3 is something! It gives us someone who, from the first moment, is there to support us, make us laugh, advise us and be by our side. Junpei is still there. But it’s the fact that he can be so reliable and trustworthy that it becomes a fun choice to ask “What if?”

There are some great (and not minor, scary) romance options we get with the laptop person 3 Social connections. Shinjiro is fantastic. Aside from the wicked and ubiquitous bandages, Akihiko is pretty cool too. Basically, Aigis is also there as a potential girlfriend, if you wish. I would even say that I consider Shinji to be my “canon” partner for the game, considering how things are going. But there’s a level of friendship that develops in Junpei’s route that isn’t present in the other options. Junpei has been with you from the start. You have a common base and parallel experiences, in a way. Of all the people you meet and meet, he is the first to reach out and offer you an unconditional level of support. It is an ideal basis for a relationship.

Especially since we also see Junpei grow as a character. We understand that friendships and people aren’t always perfect with him. There is a feeling of jealousy coming from the player chosen to lead, rather than him, even though the two came together at the same time. It’s almost like he feels an obligation or a need to be responsible because of the stereotypes, and we see him accepting that he’s great no matter what position he plays in the team.

I mean, I kind of appreciate that Junpei isn’t someone you can fall in love with. laptop person 3. It’s great that Kotone can turn to a good friend who always helps her and is fun to spend time with. Not to mention that the story still unfolds in a way that leaves it unreachable. Things could have been done to turn things around, just like they do with another female lead, Social Link. But that negates a lot of good for another character. Plus, it adds a touch of realism. You can’t always fall in love with everyone. Not to mention, it reinforces the idea that yes, men and women can be friends without it becoming something more.

But also I still really, in reality I wanted to make Junpei my virtual boyfriend and start our romance when I first played laptop person 3and everything else back on Switch.

laptop person 3 is available on Nintendo Switch, PS4, PSP, Xbox One, Xbox Series X and PC.
