It’s been three years since Hunt: Showdown left Early Access status and appeared on Steam. Due to its special gameplay, the hardcore shooter has placed itself in a niche that continues to inspire many players.
A new in-game event with the auspicious name “As the Crow Flies” has started for the three-year anniversary. As a result of the event, you can not only get hold of new weapon skins, but also marvel at a completely new boss. We have summarized all the information for you.
The event runs from March 24th to April 12th and is divided into two “acts”.
What can you expect in the event?
Akt 1: A Murder of Crows
In the first act of the event, all players must work together and earn event points. The collection works across platforms and a total of 100,000,000 points must be earned.
If enough points have been collected, a new boss moves into the bayou. In addition to the butcher, the assassin and the spider, it is now time to hunt down the fourth monstrosity, whose design is reminiscent of a crow. This will automatically start the second act of the event.
This is how you earn event points:
- Destroying small bird models – 1 point
- Destroy swarm of crows – 1 point
- Destroy large models – 2 points
- Investigate an Event Clue or Rift – 2 points
- Kill spider / assassin / butcher – 3 points
What about the new relics? Relics can be used to increase the points earned by you and your team. Relics can be purchased in the Blood Token Shop and come in three rarities: iron, silver, and ivory. The more valuable the relic, the higher the boost on the event points.
- Requirements: +20 percent
- Silver: + 50 percent
- Ivory: + 100 percent
Relics are consumables and must be equipped accordingly before the start of the round. Inside the relic is a random reward that is given to a random player on your team when used. These include Hunt Dollars, Blood Tokens, permanent hunter slots, legendary unlocks, and more.

Akt 2: As the Crow Flies
If the event points were earned collectively in the first act, they flow into your personal event progress in the second act and serve to unlock exclusive goodies. Next to one legendary skin for the chain pistol, which you unlock when you log in for the first time, you can expect:
- Scavengers Snare (legendary barbed wire trip hazard – 200 points)
- The Marrow (legendary first aid kit – 400 points)
- Sweet Briar (legendary sticky bomb – 800 points)
- Shrike (legendary Sprenglanze – 1,200 points)
- The Plague Doctor (legendary hunter – 2,000 points)
Each player can only earn a certain number of points per day. If you have reached the daily cap, you will receive normal Hunter EXP instead of event points. Points that are still in your account at the end of the event will be converted into Hunt Dollars at the end of the event.
Event causes record numbers on Steam
According to the numbers on steamdb, never before have so many players jumped into Hunt: Showdown at the same time as at the beginning of the anniversary event. Nearly 25,000 players went to bayou with their bolt action rifles and revolvers on March 24th.
The fact that Hunt is currently experiencing an upswing in player numbers was already evident in the last major update. Update 1.5 brought different types of ammunition into play in February, which also resulted in more players.
