On March 29, an interesting game debuted on Steam Early Access: Smalland: Survive the Wilds. This is a creative open-world survival title that puts you in the shoes of an elf venturing into a magical landscape. This exciting journey allows the player to experience the world from the perspective of a small creature. The scale of the game and its environment make critters, insects and other creatures mortal enemies… but also friends! Let’s find out which of the small animals in the game can be your ally and how to achieve it.
how to tame an animal
Taming an animal in Smalland is a simple process. This requires the player to first weaken a creature to 50% health or less, then feed it their favorite treat. Once these conditions are met, a notice will appear that will allow you to tame the animal. As the game is currently only available on PC, by default it uses an “F” key or, if playing on a controller, the “X” or “Y” button depending on the device used.
It should be noted that each animal has its own treat which will allow you to tame it. The appropriate “treat” should be available in your inventory. It does not need to be equipped or dropped.
What animals can you tame?
Currently, five creatures can be tamed. More are planned as the game develops. These five creatures, along with their treats, are:
- Grasshopper: Grasshopper treat: 3 insect eggs, 1 petal, 2 seed oils
- young ladies: Damsel Treat: 3x Firefly Juice, 1x Petal, 2x Seed Oil
- wolf spiders: Wolf Spider Treat: 1x Grasshopper Leg, 2x Spider Eye, 3x Insect Wings, 1x Petal, 2x Seed Oil
- geckos: Gecko Treat: 2x Ant Head, 2x Bee Head, 1x Petal, 2x Seed Oil
- ladybugs: Ladybug travel kit: 3x edible mushrooms, 2x nectar, 5x fibers
While most insects are used as mounts, ladybugs serve as additional storage space and cannot be mounted.. Be careful entrusting them with your valuable materials, although in the current version of the game they can crash and make your storage inaccessible.
game start It only allows grasshoppers and ladybugs to be tamed, while the rest of the creatures can be tamed after defeating some of the game’s bosses and getting crafting recipes for their treats.
