The key to expanding your inventory and getting more gear slots in Hogwarts Legacy is the “Complete Merlin’s Trials” challenge, which can be found under Exploration on the challenges screen. You can start the “Complete Trials of Merlin” challenge as soon as you complete the main Trials of Merlin story quest, and each time you reach a milestone in the challenge, you’ll unlock new gear slots, so you don’t have to destroy a lot of equipment when exploring dungeons. There are almost 100 Trials of Merlin to try, and one of the toughest can be found at the westernmost point of Hogwarts’ northern region, near the ruins of Korrow Floo Flame and Bandit Camp Castle.

How to Complete Merlin’s Trial Near Ruins of Korrow
To solve the Trial of Merlin at the Ruins of Korrow, you need to light three braziers fast enough so that the first one doesn’t go out before lighting the third one. You’ll need the Confringo spell to do this, and you’ll need to find a vantage point from which you have lines of sight to all three braziers. The best place to stand is on the wooden bridge west of the Merlin Trial marker. Use Confringo or Incendio to burn the vines above the tower entrance to the west before starting.
The first brazier is on the rocks north of the bridge. It’s too far to orient automatically, so you’ll have to orient yourself manually with L2/LT. If your spell misses it, move further northeast across the bridge.

Hit all three braziers in quick succession to complete Merlin’s Trial and take one step closer to expanding your inventory.
