One of the best things about Hogwarts Legacy is being able to live out the fantasy of being a student at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. However, this trip wouldn’t be complete without being able to fly on a broomstick. This guide explains how to ride your broom at Hogwarts Legacy so you never have to walk again.
How do you ride your broom?

To ride your broom, you need to hold down the correct button to bring up the items menu. On PS5 it’s L1 and LB on Xbox Series X/S. For PC you will need to check the keybinding for the items menu in the game settings. Then with the items menu open press the button you can see assigned to your broom on the right side of the screen. On PS5 it’s a circle, and on Xbox Series X/S it’s B. This will cause your character to jump on their broomstick and start flying immediately. You can equip your broomstick with some upgrades and lots of broom types to unlock and try out if you are a flying enthusiast.
This can be a bit difficult to understand at first. We found ourselves tapping L1 and throwing dangerous puffs more than we jumped on our broomstick after first unlocking it. The trick is to hold down the item’s menu button to keep it open, then press the broom button. If all you do is press the item’s menu button, there’s no way you’ll drive your broom when you press the corresponding button.
How to Unlock Theft in Hogwarts Legacy

You will unlock your broomstick and fly through the open world of Hogwarts Legacy at the start of the story. You need to complete the first flight class in the game. This is part of one of your main missions in the main story questline. The course is short and once you’re done you can hop on your broomstick anywhere outside of the game. it probably wouldn’t be much fun anyway, given the tight, sharp corners you’d likely encounter.
