Early access to Sons of the Forest, a survival horror video game, is now available. Developed by Endnight Games and published by Newnight, the game is a direct sequel to the developer’s previous title, The Forest. Tasked with searching for a missing billionaire on an island haunted by creatures of the night, the player can go it alone or team up with friends via co-op mode, crafting the tools and resources they need to get by living. The game’s controls can be a bit confusing as it differs slightly from its predecessor, but it’s quite intuitive and gamers will get used to it quickly. This is how you can access your inventory in Sons of the Forest.

How to Open Your Inventory in Sons of the Forest

Players can access their inventory by pressing the “I” button on their keyboard or pressing the D-Pad on their controller, which will cause their character to display all the items they own on screen. Inventory will allow you to quickly swap certain items, allowing you to quickly equip a tool or weapon. Other items, such as food and medicine, will simply be consumed if you select them from your inventory.

Items in your inventory will automatically be sorted when you access the interface, and multiples of a particular item will be placed together in the same pile on the ground. From what we can see, item placement is consistent, but there doesn’t seem to be any way to change the way items are ordered or the placement of item stacks, since players can only move resources to craft them, equip tools, or consume food and medicine. While this normalizes inventory stacking and allows players to quickly navigate their inventory by referring to guides, the lack of customization may also be a deterrent to some players who like their inventory organized in a certain way.
