Where to find the fish trap in Sons of the Forest
When you first start the game you will notice that there are a bunch of boxes lying around the crash site. You need to open them all and acquire the emergency pack. This pack contains a guide inside, which contains many crafting recipes. Once you’ve managed to get the book, open your inventory and select it. Next, access the second mode by holding the ‘X’ key.

The book will now be in your left hand, and you can click on the “Traps” options to see all the traps you can build. Here you will also see the ‘Fish Trap’ option. To craft it, you will need a total of 25 sticks. Yes, it may seem like a lot, but you have no choice.

Luckily, sticks are relatively easy to find compared to some of the other Sons of the Forest items, like 3D printers. Sticks can be found scattered throughout the forest. But if you can’t find many on the ground, you can use the ax in your inventory to cut down small trees. These will provide you with enough sticks to build the fish trap.

After acquiring enough sticks, find a body of water or go to a river. Once there, open the Guide by pressing the ‘B’ key and go to the Traps section again. Then click on the fish trap and a white outline structure will appear in front of you. When this happens, keep pressing the “E” key until your character finishes crafting the fish trap.
