All jobs from octopathic traveler 2 will use JP to learn new skills. Some may have other requirements. Inventor, a job you get from Arkar is one of them. It’s about collecting and reporting. This means that you don’t want to sell items that you may inadvertently need. So here are all the things you need to learn new professional skills as an inventor in octopathic traveler 2.
How to get the inventor job in octopathic traveler 2
If you exit Delsta from the east, you will be on Eastern Delsta Highroad. (This happens in the first chapter of the Throne story, giving it easy access.) Head north at the fork to get to the Winterlands. Instead of continuing north here, stay east and cross a small wooden bridge. You will see an isolated house with a windmill in front. This is Arkar’s house, and going inside to talk to him will get you the Inventor job in octopathic traveler 2.
How to acquire professional skills as an inventor in octopathic traveler 2
After unlocking the inventor job, you must return to Arkar to unlock his additional abilities. Only the Interchangeable Catapult and Bungee Boots are available at the time you get the job.
Here is the list of items you must reserve and keep in order to learn the other skills.
- Arkar’s Coil: 1 Scrap, 1 Ancient Gear and 1 Natural Lodestone.
- Critical Range: 1 surefire earring and 1 critical earring.
- Elemental Bomb Bottle: 1 Fire Soul Stone, 1 Ice Soul Stone, 1 Thunder Soul Stone, and 1 Rainbow Crystal Bottle.
- Hammer of Acceleration: 1 soldier’s bow, 1 large blade and 1 guardian’s axe.
- Tin Horn: 1 Lychee Booster, 1 Tin Toy and 1 Mythic Horn
And, if you win all seven, you can get those four support skills.
- One step forward: This character acts first.
- BP in Hardship: When you are about to die, you gain 2 BP.
- Fruits of Labor: Get one point of defense and resistance for each professional skill you know.
- Improved Accessories: Your accessories will be stronger.
