How to cross the starting city?

Upon entering the starting town, you will see the second policeman who was helping Leon get burned alive. If you enter the area, the locals will become quite hostile as soon as they see Leon. At first it’s unclear what you need to do to get through the village. However, we can confirm that all you have to do is survive long enough for the bell to ring. Once this happens, all enemies will stop attacking Leon and head inside the tower, leaving you free to escape.
How long does the timer last in the departure city?

The stopwatch in the starting town takes about two to four minutes. This changes depending on the difficulty and if you activate Chainsaw Man before or not. We recommend activating Chainsaw Man early if you can, then running around and avoiding damage as much as possible while going through buildings. You can find vantage points to kill enemies, but Chainsaw Man makes it very difficult when he charges at you.
Do you need to kill everyone in the village?
No, you don’t need to kill all the enemies in the village. We found that the more enemies we killed, the more spawns there were. If you want to speed things up and have some fun, run to the exit door at the other end of the village to activate the enemy Chainsaw Man. He will burst in and try to cut you down with a giant chainsaw. This enemy will spawn whether or not you activate it first, but things get hectic once it spawns, so it’s a good way to speed up time until the bells ring.

If you’re having trouble avoiding dying before the bell rings, try entering the large building downtown. You can get a shotgun on the first floor and jump out of the windows to avoid getting caught in the process. You can also run around the open barn with a cow inside, shoot the lantern, and watch your enemies burn as they chase you. This is great for dealing damage to Chainsaw Man.
