Where does Rover Drive fall?

The Rover Drive drops from Wulfrum Rovers at a rate of 10%. Wulfrum Rovers can spawn anywhere on the surface during the day in pre-hard mode. These enemies remain stationary until they spot a player, at which point they dash towards the player to deal damage. These enemies are generally not a threat to most players, regardless of their distance in the game. However, when charged by a Wulfrum Pylon, these enemies gain an energy shield that increases their defense, causing them to makes it a bit trickier.

What does Rover Drive do in Calamity?

The Rover Drive is not a vehicle, it is actually a personal piece of equipment that provides a small defense shield of 15 for 10 seconds. After the shield has expended its energy, the Rover Drive needs 20 seconds to recharge before the shield automatically reactivates. This shield, although temporary, can make all the difference during its active time. An immediate defense of 15 is pretty good in the early game and can trivialize many boss damage windows without making new players nervous.

Rover Drive’s big hidden advantage is that it’s part of The Absorber, a Hardmode team that combines a litany of effects on Ancient Manipulator, though that can only be achieved before Moon Lord. Once you’ve completed this gear, be sure to store it in a safe place so it can return to its glory at the end of the game.
