While studying at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry at Hogwarts Legacy, you must amass a large collection of ingredients to use in potions that will aid you in many quests. This guide explains how to get Spider Fang and where you can farm it on the map.
Where to find Spider Fang

The best place to find Spider Fang in Hogwarts Legacy is in the forest near Lower Hogsfield. This location is a small collection of buildings directly below Hogwarts Castle on the map. From there, head into the woods beyond the area and you’ll quickly come across Thornback Shooters. You’ll likely first encounter them while attempting the Carcarted Away quest.
They are giant spiders that will run after you and attack you if given the chance. You must fight and kill the Thornback Shooters to make them drop Spider Fangs to collect. We found more Thornback Shooters spawning at night, to the point that we couldn’t run for more than two seconds without finding a few to shoot down. You can also get Spider Fang from the Thornback Matriarchs, though they are much bigger and harder to kill.

Of course, if you don’t want to fight giant spiders, you can always buy Spider Fang. Visit J. Pippin’s Potions in Hogsmeade and you can buy them for 50 Galleons.

Your best bet for farming Spider Fang is to keep your distance while exploring the forest. Your map will display icons for nearby enemies as you walk down the path. Approach their position and use Accio to lure them in and get free shots. Levioso is also excellent at stopping eight-legged monsters from nipping at your heels while decimating the local population.
What is Spider Fang for?

Spider Fang is used to brew the Maxima potion. You need to buy J. Pippin’s potions recipe for 500 galleons, but then you can do whatever you want. The potion requires a Spider Fang and a Leech Juice. The Ultimate Potion temporarily increases the drinker’s spell damage. It’s incredibly useful if you’re fighting a combat match in high-level missions or challenges.
