Polymorphic Shellcode is one of many resources introduced in Destiny 2’s Lightfall expansion. This update adds a location called Neomuna, a futuristic city built on Neptune and home to a character and location provider, Nimbus. This place is full of resources and farming equipment, and the polymorphic shellcode is locked behind a meaningful routine. This guide will explain how to get polymorphic shellcode in Destiny 2.

Where to find polymorphic shellcode in Destiny 2

This rare resource is different from many resources in Destiny 2. This item can only be obtained after completing a long quest and then directly from Nimbus. To start the Polymorphic Shellcode quest, you need to complete the Lightfall campaign. Once the campaign is over, you need to visit the Hall of Heroes and speak to Neomuna Archivist Quinn Laghari.

After talking to this character, you must complete a series of long quests. They are next.

  • Welcome to the Hall of Heroes Quest.
  • Stargazer Memorial Mission.
  • Maelstrom Memorial Mission.
  • Bluejay Memorial Mission.

The Bluejay Memorial quest will require a Terminal Overload Key to complete this quest, but it’s easy to get if you farm enemies and events in a Vex raid zone. You will then talk to Nimbus and they will give you your first Polymorph Shellcode. This item will be needed to attempt the Partition quest. The Partition mission is difficult, so we recommend trying it once you’re close to the 1790 power requirement. Complete this quest to unlock a weekly Nimbus reward.

This weekly reward is called Vex Raid Countermeasures. This bounty can only be completed once per week. To complete this bounty, you must venture into the daily Vex Incursion location and defeat enemies using Strand or Strand weapons.

Take advantage of this weekly reward to earn a steady supply of Polymorph Shellcode, and complete the Partition quest to earn a shiny Pinnacle reward once a week.
