During “The Story of Rowland Oakes” side quest in Hogwarts Legacy, a fellow Adelaide student asks you to find her Uncle Rowland, who disappeared after taking a job with a Loyalist squad. Adelaide is in the Transfiguration Yard at Hogwarts, where she’ll tell you how Rowland’s usual owls haven’t reached her for some time. As a result, he began to worry about his uncle’s safety. So it’s up to you to find out Rowland’s whereabouts by locating his belongings, like his map and diary, in a goblin-run camp at Hogwarts Legacy.

Where to find Rowland’s map in Hogwarts Legacy

“The Tale of Rowland Oakes” quest marker in Hogwarts Legacy will lead you to a small bandit camp, where you’ll find a map revealing its current location. This camp doesn’t have a Floo Llama, so you need to head to the nearest fast travel point in the northeast region of Hogwarts. After reaching the mission destination, you will have to face several loyal warriors and assassins before you can safely investigate the camp. Once the area is clear, check the west side of the camp to find Rowland Oake’s journal on the ground and his hand-drawn map above a pile of boxes in Hogwarts Legacy.
The Rowland map in Hogwarts Legacy will show a detailed but rough illustration of the camp you are currently in and an arrow pointing southwest to a ruin door. If you open your map and search for a POI southwest of your location, you will find your target destination, the Ruins of Korrow. This place is heavily guarded by goblins and trolls, but you can easily enter the ruin’s underpass passing all enemies without engaging in combat.

Once inside the location shown on Rowland’s map in Hogwarts Legacy, you must fight your way past the most hostile loyalists to reach the locked prison cell housing Adelaide’s uncle. Fortunately, he knows how to magically undo the mechanisms of the lock, but it requires his unique wand to do so. You can find his wand by returning to the master bedroom and opening the boiler room door. The door locking mechanism is accessed via the stairway to the left of the door.
Inside the vault-like Boiler Room, you’ll encounter elite enemy Pergit and her crew of unwelcoming loyalists at Hogwarts Legacy. For those focused on completing “The Tale of Rowland Oakes”, casting Disillusion and sneaking into the rest room to get the wand will get you back to Uncle Rowland quickly without unnecessary confrontation. After freeing Uncle Adelaide, you will receive your reward and an in-game notification of mission completion.
