There are many interesting objects that you can find all over the island in Sons of the Forest. There are weapons like katanas and shotguns as well as items like the breather and shovel. Each item has a purpose and will help you at some point in the game. If you search hard enough, you can even find a special weapon which is a reticle. Use it correctly and it will help you burn the demons. This guide will show you how to get and use the cross in Sons of the Forest.
How to get the cross in Sons of the Forest
The Cross is a unique weapon that appears in two different locations on the map. Unfortunately, you cannot use two crosses and you can only get one. The first cross you can locate is inside the same cave where you can find the Rope Gun. This cross, however, is not necessary and will only help you much later in the game. However, it’s good to have the article early and in such an accessible place.

Later, you can find a second cross in a bunker on the opposite side of the island from where you normally spawn. The entrance to the bunker is near the beach south of where you can get your hands on the revolver. Before going there, make sure you have the maintenance card. When you find the bunker entrance, enter and go down four flights of stairs to find a door on your left with a pile of suitcases. Continue through the rooms ahead and down the next set of stairs. You’ll eventually find a room with a bunch of pipes and blood on the walls.

Go through the door on the other side of the room and turn left. Walk down the long hallway to a room with a bunch of paintings. Go through the small door between the paintings. This will take you to a living area. Go left and go through the door to find the bedroom. The cross sits on the back of the bed.

How to use the cross in Sons of the Forest
The cross is one of the most unique weapons in Sons of the Forest. Although it may seem unnecessary, it will protect enemies in the late game. In the same bunker where one of the crosses is, you can find a note that says “Crosses burn demons”.

If you’ve progressed far enough in the game, you can access a cave system beneath this lava-filled bunker. In this area you will find enemies called demons. Using the reticle against these enemies will shield and burn them, making the reticle a very useful tool in the late game.
