In Minecraft, experience is key to ensure you grow stronger and stronger in the fight for survival. It is useful for several reasons. You can spend it to repair and enchant items, or if you have a repair enchantment on a tool or weapon, collecting experience orbs will repair any item you have that enchantment on. Luckily, there are plenty of ways to gain experience, but some methods can take some time. These are the fastest ways to gain experience in Minecraft.

The best ways to get XP fast in Minecraft

raise animals

An easy way to gain experience without too much work is to breed cows or sheep. At first, the production will be minimal, but the more animals you have, the more orbs you will get. First, capture two cows and sheep and place them in a fenced area. Now start breaking the tall grass until you start getting seeds. Create a hoe and start plowing the ground near your animal pen. Plant the seeds and you will eventually start growing wheat.

Now that you have wheat, go to your cows and sheep and feed them. This will put them into breeding mode (you’ll know this by the hearts that appear around them). Once both are in this mode, they will take care of the rest. Once the baby is born, you will gain experience. As they age, keep feeding them for more experience in large amounts.

Build a gangster farm

Although you can go out in the dark and fight various monsters to gain experience, it requires a lot of movement and you put yourself in danger. Instead, consider setting up a situation where mobs are automatically dumped into a small area where you can eliminate them quickly.

To see a gangster farm accessible from the start of the game, watch the Dusty Dude video below. The only essential materials for this build are five stacks of wooden planks or cobblestones and some water. Of course, to make the gathering process profitable, you can add to the farm as you collect more resources.

Find a crowd generator

Mob Spawners are a great, but sometimes dangerous way to get XP fast in Minecraft. Make sure you have at least five torches that you place on each side of the block to keep them out. Now that it’s safe, it’s time to arrange the room so that the monsters fall into an area where you can be safe. kill them. Place the water on the ground so that it pushes all incoming monsters to a corner where you can easily eliminate them without putting yourself in danger.

Establish a trade market with the villagers.

Trading items with villagers is a surefire way to rack up lots of experience. As you trade with them, they will level up and provide more trading opportunities (until they run out of supplies). First, herd the villagers into separate enclosures so they don’t run away or be attacked by mobs. In each living area, place a bed for each villager to sleep in and restore their trading resources the next day.

Keep the villager’s profession in mind, as the items they want will change based on that. We recommend creating as many farmer villagers as possible, as they are probably the easiest to collect.

Fishing

While it may seem slow and uneventful, fishing in Minecraft is a very efficient way to gain experience fairly quickly. First, craft a fishing rod with three sticks and two ropes and find any water source block.

The key to making this method more lucrative is to catch individual enchantment books or enchanted fishing rods while fishing. If you notice any of the following books or enchantments on a fishing rod, be sure to use that rod.

  • Repair I: Restores item durability when collecting experience orbs.
  • Lure III: Catch things faster and less time waiting for the cork to submerge.
  • Luck of the Sea III – Makes him more likely to catch treasure instead of junk.
  • Unbreaking III: Only needed if you don’t have a repair. Increases item durability by giving it a chance not to lose durability when used.

Use a console command

Finally, if you want to cheat and save time, you can use a console command to give you experience. To do this, open the chat window and type /xp (number)L (player name). This will give any player called that number of levels. For example, if I wanted to give myself 10 experience levels, I would write this:

/xp 10L REV X SOMBRAS

If you don’t include the L, you only give yourself experience points, not levels, so it will be much less.
