The crossbow is one of the few weapons you can find while exploring the island in Sons of the Forest. It’s a much better item for hunting animals and fighting monsters than the craft bow you can craft with a pair of sticks. The issue could be making sure you have enough crossbolts to use, so you’ll need to be careful with those shots. This is what you need to know to find the crossbow in Sons of the Forest.

Where to find the crossbow in Sons of the Forest

The crossbow is an item that you can find well in the game. You will be able to locate it once you have several items and locate a missing keycard. The key item you will need to find is the Recycler, which is near the crash site and where the game begins. Once you have that, head south and you should find a crank gun in a cave near where you can find the 3D printer. Once you have these two items, travel to the nearest GPS locator south of the crash site and enter the cave. You’ll find a shovel at the end, which will give you access to an underground bunker.

Each location is full of mutants and cannibals, so we don’t recommend heading there right away. Instead, focus on surviving for a few days, scavenge some decent supplies, and slowly venture out of camp, grabbing those items regularly. Luckily, the keycard you need isn’t too far from where you can find the shovel. It will be on the green GPS icon on your map. Dig into the site when you arrive and when you venture into the underground bunker you will find the maintenance access card.

On the next green GPS, the next stop is west of your current location. You can find a cave that leads to a bunker at this site, and your progress will be blocked by a door that requires a keycard. Use your keycard there and you should find the crossbow on the ground next to a corpse on the other side. You need to find it in the first room you enter, to the right of the last door.
