However, as you may have experienced in previous Omega Force games, success in Wild Hearts requires skill, strategy, and the right gear. From weapons and armor to consumables and tools, every piece of gear plays a crucial role in the hunt. So if you want to max out your gear, you’ll want to find one crucial crafting material: Great Scales.
Where to find Large Scales in Wild Hearts

Large Scales can be found in both Akikure Canyons. You will need to kill Sparkshower Monitors to get this item. However, there is a catch. If you’ve been killing those red lizards non-stop and don’t have big scales yet, this item won’t be available until chapter three. So you will need to progress through Chapters One and Two before they start appearing in the game.

Chapter Three will allow you to defeat the fearsome Mighty Dreadclaw in battle, unlocking Mighty Kemonos. Powerful kemonos are upgraded versions of the kemono you’ve already fought. You won’t need to develop a new strategy to beat them, but they will deal more damage. Additionally, unlocking Mighty Kemono will also cause smaller kemono to spawn in invasive biomes. Previously, Sparkshower Monitors inhabited Natsukodachi Island and dropped small scales. But after chapter three, you will get the Mighty Kemono upgrade, and game events will force creatures to migrate to other biomes. Sparkshower Monitors will spawn in Akikure Canyon and start dropping large scales when killed. You are now ready to improve the best of your weapons and equipment.
