Minecraft is one of the most iconic games that lets you create, survive, and explore a massive open world. You can enhance your Minecraft experience by using different camera modes: first person, third person front, and third person back. Third person is a great mode if you want to take a screenshot or record something. This guide will teach you how to enable Third Person Mode for each Minecraft version and platform.
How to Enable Third Person Mode in Minecraft

To enter third person mode, you need to press the default key for this on your given platforms. For the PC Bedrock and Java edition of the game, you can use the F5 key, which will automatically put your camera in third person mode. You can use the instructions below to change the camera mode on all other platforms.
- Xbox: Press the up button on your DPad. If that doesn’t work, go to controls settings and find the button configured to change the camera perspective.
- playground: You need to press LS button (left stick) or up or down on DPad. Like Xbox, if that doesn’t work, check your controls settings for the dedicated camera switch button.
- nintendo: For this one, you can try pressing the DPad or pressing the LS button (left stick). If that doesn’t work, try searching for the button in the settings.
