After defeating the first boss, you’ll find yourself in a new area filled with wastelands. At the end, a powerful monkey-like enemy is waiting for you. This large primate is Zhuyan and he can easily reduce you to a pulp. This guide will show you how to defeat Zhuyan in Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty.

Zhuyan boss guide in Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty

Zhuyan has some pretty punchy moves that you’ll want to keep in mind during the fight. The first two moves you will have to deal with are sweep and sweep attacks. Starting with the punch, Zhuyan will raise his arms in the air and punch them hard, creating a shockwave on impact. Stand too close and you will be hit. These attacks are easy to block, and you’ll usually hit them three or four times. After the attack, you can land a few hits but don’t be greedy.

In addition to punches, Zhuyan will sometimes throw his arms horizontally for certain punch attacks. Like slams, these usually come in sets of three or four and are easy to block. Land a few hits then go back on the defensive to avoid being punished for being greedy with your attacks. Apart from standard attacks, Zhuyan has a shout that he performs. Getting caught in it can hurt you, but it doesn’t hit very hard.

Zhuyan also has two different unlockable attacks that you’ll need to deflect. Like other moves in the game, these are telegraphed by the red dot that appears on Zhuyan. The first of these moves occurs when Zhuyan jumps back and kicks backwards. This indicates that he will rush to attack. Deflects when thrown to leave it open for an attack.

Zhuyan’s other unlockable attack occurs when he launches into the air to perform a powerful slam attack. This attack happens very quickly and often occurs during his standard slam attack. Keep paying attention to Zhuyan’s movements, deflect if necessary, and remember not to be too greedy with your attacks. Zhuyan only has one phase, which makes him a little easier to deal with than the game’s first boss.
