While Diablo IV features a plethora of violence and demons, the game also offers light side quests. One of the first side quests you can do is the Raising Spirits quest. The Raising Spirits quest lets you cheer on the training militia in one of the first towns you enter the game. The side quest is a nice little diversion you can take on before heading to another dungeon at explore, but how do you boost the morale of the militia?

Kyovashad is the first town you will enter in Diablo 4, and as soon as you enter there will be a blue exclamation point in the northern part of the town map. Head to the exclamation point to talk to a soldier named Guard Boza, who will give you the Raiding Spirits side quest. Boza wants you to boost the morale of the militia soldiers in training.

How to Animate the Training Militia

Soldiers are marked on your map with a light blue circle. When you get to the blue circle, you’ll see a few soldiers gathered around a small fenced area. These are the training militias, and to boost their morale you need to use the Cheer emote.

Gestures are non-verbal reactions you can perform with your player character to communicate with other players. You can select your emoticon options by opening the gesture wheel. To summon the emote wheel, you must press it and on your keyboard or On a controller’s D-pad. You may need to scroll through the emoticon menus before you find the Cheer emoticon. To switch between Emote Wheels, use the middle mouse wheel or the controller bumpers.

Cheer emoticon symbol should be two clapping hands. Once you find the Cheer emoticon, highlight it and press the confirm button. Make sure the soldiers see you performing the emote, and when they do, return to Guard Boza to complete the Raising Spirits side quest.
