There are many paths to take in much of FromSoftware’s Elden Ring, and the Starscourge Radahn Portal is one that needs a bit of work. Completing the boss fight against Starscourge Radahn will irreversibly change the game world in certain areas, opening up a large number of quests and locations. You’ll need to gather some materials first, and it might be worth having a few levels under your belt before attempting this, but here’s how to activate the Starscourge Radahn Portal in Elden Ring.

Find the parts of the Dectus medallion
To open the portal, players will need to complete two different forts in order to grab the left and right sides of the Dectus Medallion. The Dectus Medallion is needed to open the portal, so the first steps are to collect these two pieces, both in Fort Haight and Fort Faroth.
Fort Haight – Left Dectus Medallion

Fort Haight is the closer of the two forts you’ll need to visit, so it makes sense to start here. Fort Haight is ultimately where you’ll get a Golden Seed, featuring an entity called Kenneth Haight, so it might be worth starting this quest chain before climbing to the top to grab the Left Dectus Medallion. Regardless of what you want to start with before grabbing this, the Left Dectus Medallion can be found on top of a tower in Fort Haight, inside a chest.
Fort Faroth – Right Medallion Dectus

There’s little love for Caelid with its endemic scarlet rot and ferocious enemies, but we must travel to this region via Fort Faroth, home to the second half of the Medallion Dectus. Again, just like with Fort Haight, you’ll want to climb up to the tallest tower inside the fort and find a chest. This chest contains the other half of the Dectus medallion, allowing to open the portal.
Altus Plateau
Activate Dectus’ Great Elevator to enter Altus Plateau – This will trigger the change in Radahn’s Castle to challenge Radahn, as it activates an in-game flag indicating you’ve progressed a certain amount in the title. Otherwise, you’ll have to follow Ranni’s quest line until she mentions it, and you’ll join Blaidd.

Activate the portal on the west side of the large impassable bridge and you’ll be inside a strange type of festival. Talk to the wacky behind the door on the left side and tell that NPC you’re ready to start the festivities. Of course, beating Radahn is another story.
