World of Warcraft: Dragonflight has a ton of optional content to use as additional gear sources. Certain in-world activities allow players who aren’t raiding or doing Mythic Plus dungeons a way to gain useful upgrades for themselves. One such activity is known as Elemental Storms, recurring events that involve farming currency to buy and upgrade elemental overflow gear. Let’s discuss when these events are generated and where to find them.

When do Elemental Storms appear in WoW: Dragonflight?

Elemental Storms spawn in pairs every three hours in two random areas on the Dragon Islands. Events last for two hours, meaning you have one hour downtime between each spawn cycle. During the event, you can defeat enemies with elemental powers in exchange for money to buy equipment or upgrade it. Because each event rotates every three hours, there are effectively 16 elemental storms within 24 hours, since each generation has two storms active at a time.

The event runs every five hours, and completing it once a week will reward a cache that can contain useful items and cosmetic transmog appearances. It’s also a good way to earn some extra cash to upgrade gear earned by participating in Elemental Storms.
