  • Burns: These are caused by a firearm or a spell. When it reaches max threshold on you or an opponent, the target will take damage over time. The way to remedy this is with a positive water-based effect or by rolling in combat.
  • Chill – This is caused by an ice-based weapon or spell. When you fully charge it against an opponent or have an enemy charge against you, it lowers its stone resistance and increases the time it takes for your Spirit Recovery Gauge to charge up after using Heavy Spirit Attacks. You can remedy this with a positive Earth-based buff.
  • Heaviness: This is caused by a stone-based weapon or spell. When the gauge is maxed against you or an opponent, the target will have reduced lightning resistance. They take increased Spirit damage while decreasing the amount of Spirit received when attacking or defending. You can remedy this with a positive effect of Wood Phase.
  • Poison: This is caused by a toxin-based weapon or spell. As the gauge fills up, it reduces flame resistance and gradually reduces the target’s health and spirit. This can be cured with a positive fire phase effect.
  • Shock – This is caused by a lightning based weapon or spell. When the gauge fills up, it reduces toxin resistance and gradually reduces spirit gain. This can be cured with a Metal Positive effect.
