The FIFA 23 Fantasy FUT promotion kicked off on March 3 with a special twist. All Fantasy FUT cards are eligible for future updates, but the requirements for those updates can be a little tricky to figure out. With that said, here’s a breakdown of how these cards might receive stat boosts in the coming weeks.

How it works
Throughout the year, EA Sports will run special promotions in Football Ultimate Team that include upgradeable player items based on the demands of the real-world pitch. This is the case with Fantasy FUT.
Fantasy FUT and Fantasy FUT Heroes, in-game legends who will represent a specific former partner team, are eligible for updates in FIFA 23.

That’s how it works. There are two separate sets of leveling requirements, one for regular Fantasy FUT players and one for heroes. First, let’s look at the upgrade requirements for regular Fantasy FUT items:
- + 1 GLB– A victory in the team’s next six matches
- + 1 GLB: three appearances in the team’s next six games
- + 1 GLB: ATT/MID: two goals or assists in the next six games, DEF/GK: two clean sheets in the team’s next six games
- +1 OVR and three new traits: the club avoid defeat in the team’s next six matches
Regular Fantasy FUT players can receive a stat boost of up to +4 OVR. According to EA, the three additional traits will depend on the player’s position and existing traits.
And now the Heroes:
- +1 GLB: the club wins one of the next six team matches
- +1 GLB: the club avoid defeat in the team’s next six matches
For Fantasy FUT cards, each upgrade scenario can be completed independently.
As for in-game requirements, stat progression will start tracking on March 17. By then, the two weeks of the promotion will be over.
