Sons of the Forest seasons explained
Seasons in Sons of the Forest now features dynamic weather that continually changes as you play. The ideal weather in the game naturally occurs during the spring and summer periods when materials and resources are abundant and it is much easier to explore the island.
However, once the harsh cold of winter sets in, food sources will become scarce, which means that the inhuman creatures of the forest will also seek food. The type of clothing you wear will also determine how much you can get out and explore during this time.

With that in mind, you’ll need to plan ahead for the early seasons to survive the later part of the year. Salmon streams are an example of a food source that will disappear once winter sets in. Extremely cold weather will freeze these bodies of water, so you’ll have to wait for it to thaw before you can catch them again.
The wildlife that can often be seen roaming the forest will obviously disappear too, so stocking up on food before any of that happens is of the utmost importance. Likewise, you will need to have enough water to last a long time if you want to survive.
