The patch size for Destiny 2’s Lightfall expansion varies on each platform. We’ve broken them down for each platform below so you can see which information applies to you.
Destiny 2 Lightfall patch size on PC
On PC, the patch will be roughly the same size across all three stores. In Steam, the patch is 102.6 GBare 102.13 GB in the Microsoft storeforks 101.51 GB per GOG. While not the biggest patches on all platforms, they are some of the biggest on the market.

In Xbox One, Destiny 2’s Lightfall patch is a measly 89.21GBduring The Xbox Series X / S, is the largest of all platforms with 108.59 GB. We don’t know why Microsoft’s latest console needs such a massive patch, but it’s necessary and will likely require you to remove some things.
Destiny 2 Lightfall patch size on PlayStation
On PlayStation consoles, the Destiny 2 Lightfall patch is still big but not colossal. In PS4 son 88.21 GBafter that PS5, son 102 GB department. This is where we play and unfortunately due to how upgrades work on Sony consoles we have had to free up a lot of space in the past to play on PS4 with new expansions. The PS5 works slightly differently and doesn’t have the same requirements, which means it’s much easier to deal with Destiny 2 updates.

Destiny 2 is a great game, but all the other content that has been added to it over the years is extra and needs patches and updates. Lightfall is a full expansion, which means it adds a new set of campaign missions, a raid, modified crafting, and more. All of this requires Bungie to update most of the game files, hence the major patch you need to download.
