Hogwarts Legacy is doing so well that Warner Bros. announced that the game would become the start of a series.

We already know that Hogwarts Legacy turned out to be a massive success. Now we’ve learned something more detailswhich show the extent of the success of the game.

  1. To date, players have spent over 267 million hours in the game world. Additionally, they have planted 393 million magical plants, brewed 242 million potions, and defeated 1.25 billion evil wizards.
  2. Interest in the game is expected to be much higher than in the case of the Fantastic Beasts film series. On the fan-made Harry Potter Wiki (available at Fandom.com), pages dedicated to Hogwarts Legacy score 39% higher than those dedicated to the aforementioned film series during their sequel release periods.
  3. On Twitch between February 8 and February 22, viewers watched a total of over 55 million hours of Hogwarts Legacy content. During those two weeks, it was the second most popular game on the service; only League of Legends fared better.
  4. Warner Bros. is very pleased, as company officials said, with the “spectacular results” of Hogwarts Legacy who sees the game as the start of a longer series. Therefore, the creation of a sequel is virtually certain.
  5. The success of Hogwarts Legacy is all the more remarkable as Warner Bros. is currently the only major studio in Hollywood to develop its own video games. Other companies, even if they try their luck in this market, outsource development to third-party developers or simply sell licenses to their brands.

Hogwarts Legacy launched on February 10 on PC, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S and PlayStation 5. Xbox One and PlayStation 4 owners will have to wait until April 4 for its release, and Nintendo Switch users until July 25.

The game was a great success. Hogwarts Legacy has achieved impressive sales results on Steam and one of the highest activity records for single player items. The stock also topped last year’s Elden Ring sales results in Europe.
