The early access period for Hogwarts Legacy is underway, but some players with pre-orders are having trouble playing the game in the open world due to technical issues. Worse still, despite numerous bug reports, many aspiring wizards and sorcerers are no closer to understanding what is causing the problems or how to fix them, but developer help is on the way.

If you’re among the throng of potential students trying to start their year at the titular School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, it’s worth confirming that your team meets the Hogwarts Legacy system requirements first. That said, if you have a PC that can run the Harry Potter spin-off on paper but you’re still having trouble, you’re not alone.

Diving into the discussions on Hogwarts Legacy Steam and the official bugs page, it seems that a large number of players are experiencing crashes following the game’s impound warning and after accepting their license agreement.

Developer Portkey Games has yet to provide a fix for these issues, but is currently investigating both bugs (you can track their progress here and here). These issues will likely be resolved via a hotfix, and we’ll update this story as it arrives. For now, keep your eyes peeled.
