Hogwarts Legacy developer Avalanche Software recently announced that it has “no current plans” to release DLC, much to the disappointment of fans hoping to spend more time in the wizarding world.
Reacting to news on the Hogwarts Legacy subreddit (opens in new tab), one fan describes it as a “huge missed opportunity”, adding, “I can’t remember the last time a game hooked me like HL did, and it’s not a world I’m willing to give up, I was really hoping for a DLC.”
Another writes, “I think because of its comprehensiveness and incredible effectiveness, people are going to want more of it. I’ve completed the game 100% and have nothing else to do, and I just want more of this world because it was so good. Hopefully plans change in the future.” Also feeling that there are more adventures to be had at Hogwarts, a third fan comments, “It’s a really cool world. But the game has so much more potential, it’s kind of sad.”
Given the success of Hogwarts Legacy, it was the biggest non-CoD or FIFA release since Red Dead Redemption 2, and the fact that game director Alan Tew clarified there were no plans current for the DLC “for now”. , some players hope that additional content will be added to the game later.

Then there are those who welcome the move and see it as an opportunity for Avalanche to begin work on a second Hogwarts Legacy game. “I would rather they made a sequel instead of DLC,” says SirCietea.
