Hexarchia, a turn-based strategy game that was already making waves some time ago, has come out of hibernation to announce a major reorganization of its founding team. As a result, the remaining founder is trying to restart the game and looking for new developers to join the team.

At some point in 2022, it looked like Hexarchia was poised to take its place as one of the only Web3 strategy games around. They conducted NFT sales and conducted regular alpha testing until summer 2022. During their alphas, Hexarchia held various competitions, with NFT rewards for top players, including legendary and epic tier rewards !

Then suddenly they seemingly fell off the face of the earth. There were no new updates, posts or announcements for several months. But today, project founder Carlito sent out notices via email and social media, updating his communities on the status of the game.

Hexarchia restart

For unknown reasons, it seems that in recent months the other three of the four founders have completely abandoned the project. So now the project doesn’t have enough staff to develop it and no funds to pay full-time workers. And so, Hexarchia is now asking for the help of anyone with the necessary skills who can devote unpaid time to trying to resurrect Hexarchia.

Carlito is looking for people interested in joining the project, although he warns that positions will not be paid until funding is secured. Fortunately, it does not require full-time workers. Instead, it expects each person to contribute 5-20 hours as a passion side project.

The following positions are available:

  • Experienced Game Programmer (Unreal)
  • Full-Stack Developer (Back-End, Front-End and Blockchain)
  • 3D artist (video game avatars)
  • community leader

Carlito says the project has several positives, including a new website, partnership, and an out-of-the-box beta. If you are interested, please send your CV and a short cover letter to (email protected)

Hexarchia is certainly not the first blockchain game to hit a major block. Nor are they the first to try to come back. I certainly hope they will succeed. With Hexarchia and The Seventh Seal on the decline, the market for strategy games in the blockchain space is pretty barren. But now, more and more games are moving to alphas, betas, and even builds, so Hexarchia is bound to have some competition ahead of it! Can Hexarchia regain its momentum?

What is the Hexarchy?

Hexarchia is a turn-based strategy game with NFT. In Hexarchia, players battle for supremacy in 1v1, tag team and 6-player free-for-all matches. This hex-based game has players building a team consisting of a warlord and a selection of troops. Each team enters the battlefield and tries to destroy the opposing player’s warlord.

Warlords are the backbone of Hexarchia. You cannot play to win without, although there is a free version. However, Warlords are important to Hexarchia’s play-to-win game mechanics. Just like a king in chess, if your warlord falls during a game battle in Hexarchia, the game is over. Unlike chess kings, however, Warlord wields considerable power.

Warlords are tradable NFTs minted in Polygon. There are six different Warlords, each with their own properties and traits. Traits come in a variety of tiers, allowing Warlords to differentiate between them based on their specific traits. There are six traits in total, Civilization, Intelligence, Physical, Positive Aptitude, Negative Aptitude, and Skill. Traits provide bonuses and can also generate mini-quests, allowing Warlords to gain more experience during a match.

That’s right, Warlords is leveling up. There is no maximum level limit, but the system is designed in such a way that training above level 100 will be extremely difficult. As they level up, Warlords gain titles at level 50 (blessed) and 100 (demigod).
