A revolutionary product of its time, Valve’s first Half-Life did not need a tweak, but what if I had one that was incredibly true to the original FPS game on Steam, what if it was released very soon? Well, lucky for you, I can answer both questions, because Half-Life has a hotfix mod coming to Steam for free and, check it out, it’s coming very soon too.

Called ‘Half-Life: MMod’, this free Steam mod for Valve’s shooter aims to completely overhaul the original experience while staying within the confines of the initial 1998 release. There are AI tweaks, VFX, SFX and combat, which are optional with a host of bug fixes. The mod is described as a “revision in (the) spirit of (the) original”.

You can check out an in-progress preview of Half-Life: MMod below, with the release just around the corner.

Developer Gunship Mark II has already released an update to Half-Life 2: Mmod, which features similar improvements to Valve’s sequel, including better shooting, new animations, improved textures, NPC changes and lighting, and much more.

Half-Life 1: Mmod will be released on March 14, 2023 on Steam and you can list it on the official page.
