Rockstar Games’ upcoming release has no date yet and the first news will be announced soon, but there are elements that would be welcome
GTA 6 has been confirmed by Rockstar Games, but no date or platform has been announced yet. The game will soon be unveiled with its first trailer, which will also bring the initial information that fans have been waiting for for years. Among the new features, there are those that would be welcome because they are really different from what has been presented in the series so far, such as a female protagonist or even a completely unique location where the story takes place.
With this in mind, Globe Live Media has put together eight possible elements that we would like to see in Rockstar’s future release, and which would certainly delight all fans of the Grand Theft Auto series. Check them out:
1. Female protagonist
GTA has already had several outstanding female characters, but none of them as protagonists. GTA 6 would be the ideal moment for this to happen. It’s worth remembering that, in the initial leaks that have been circulating on the Internet over the last few months, some clues about this were given. It’s possible that one of the central figures in the game will be a woman, but nothing has yet been confirmed.
This would also be a welcome inclusion related to representativeness, something that current games are increasingly seeking. Names like Horizon: Forbidden West and The Last of Us 2 are examples of games that already have a female protagonist in their story.
2. More interiors
GTA has always been a game with huge, interactive maps to a certain extent. However, the franchise has always lacked indoor environments, such as inside houses and buildings. These elements do exist, but they are few and far between. That’s why in GTA 6 we want to see larger houses, with several bedrooms, kitchens and even bathrooms.
As GTA usually deals with characters who are involved with a lot of money, it would be the perfect excuse to expand indoor environments to larger sizes and with more interaction than we already have – including within GTA Online.
3. New map
GTA 6 may return to Vice City, according to rumors about the main map. Although the region is nostalgic for many fans, it would also be great to see something completely new. Perhaps even a map inspired by locations outside the USA, such as Rio de Janeiro, São Paulo or other Brazilian cities.
The series is known for having iconic and famous locations, such as Los Santos, a region in GTA 5 inspired by Los Angeles, USA. The city has even appeared in more than one game in the franchise, in this case in San Andreas, one of GTA’s most iconic titles. So if the idea is to innovate and renew the brand, Rockstar could really do with a 100% new location to explore the possibilities this will open up.
4. Personalized radio
In GTA, it’s common to have radios inside the cars, in which the characters can change the stations at any time and listen to predetermined music. The soundtrack of the games and the quality of the setting is very good, but it no longer matches today’s reality, as we connect our cell phones and listen to our own playlists from streaming platforms. One option would be to allow a link with Spotify, for example, and let the player listen to their favorite artists while carrying out the missions.
5. Integration with FiveM and RP
Rockstar recently announced the acquisition of the FiveM platform, which is used on GTA RP servers such as Cidade Alta, Complexo and Hype. This is a modification of the current GTA Online, which allows players to play characters on private servers, with various rules to follow.
The acquisition of the company aims to expand the future of RP in GTA 6, so we hope that the game will have a natural integration with its online mode and RP servers, preferably taking advantage of what has already been done with GTA 5.
6. Decoratable houses
GTA 6 could include houses that can be decorated down to the smallest detail, which would certainly please a huge number of players, especially fans of games like The Sims 4. In GTA Online, users could already buy luxury homes, an almost obligatory element within the game’s community, even with the limited customization options. So it would be interesting to see Rockstar making new options available, so that players could spend a few hours defining what their character’s ideal home would look like.
7. A better story
GTA has always been a game known for its variety, good gameplay, innovative mechanics and striking characters. However, its story has never been the game’s main element. Perhaps the most outstanding storyline to date is that of GTA: San Andreas, released in 2004. That’s why GTA 6 could have a plot worthy of major productions, since it’s about time the franchise had an outstanding title in this respect.
8. Destructible environments
GTA 6 will be a game for the new generation of consoles, so you can expect it to draw on the full potential of the PS5 and Xbox Series X. Destructible environments can serve as a way of demonstrating how powerful these devices are, displaying truly interactive and varied elements, according to the player’s influence within the map. I’m sure players would love to destroy locations with gunfire and bombs, as well as crashing their cars into other vehicles with more realistic physics.
