At the end of 2020, the Cayo Perico Update was the first Heist for GTA Online that can be played completely solo. Fans of the single player mode of Grand Theft Auto 5, however, went away empty-handed.
Now a modder does the heist offline and makes it playable in the GTA 5 story campaign. We provide you with all the information you need to download and install.
What is the Cayo Perico Heist anyway?
New heist, new island: The Cayo Perico Heist is the biggest update that has ever appeared for GTA Online. Players of the multiplayer mode have access to a robbery, which takes place primarily on the eponymous island of the drug lord El Rubio, but also in Los Santos itself.
Solo or with friends: The Cayo Perico Heist can be played alone or with up to three friends. If you are skillful and know what to do, you can complete the attack, including preparatory missions, within 60 to 90 minutes.
Because the payout is relatively high (at least one million GTA dollars are almost always in it), the Cayo Perico Heist is now enjoying great popularity in the GTA Online community.
Available only in GTA Online: But although you can fight the robbery completely without a player, as already mentioned, the Heist can only be played in GTA Online and not in the single player of GTA 5. At the end of 2020 we even asked Rockstar whether there were any plans to make Cayo Perico available in story mode, but received (at least for the time being) a rejection.
Single player updates for multiplayer: According to the current status, Rockstar continues to rely on multiplayer updates, while single player content is not a priority. On the other hand, fans can look forward to new content for GTA Online or Red Dead Online, which you can complete solo and without fellow players – as Rockstar already promised us.
Mod makes Cayo Perico Heist playable offline
Play Cayo Perico Heist offline thanks to modders: The modder HKH191 made his work available on the gta5-mods website, which makes the Cayo Perico Heist from GTA Online playable in GTA 5’s single player. So if you haven’t tried the multiplayer mode before, you might be interested in this mod.
New heist for the GTA 5 heroes: HKH191 managed to make the island, the questline and all items from the robbery available in the story campaign. You can use it in the role of Michael, Franklin and Trevor to raid El Rubio’s island on your own – or even take AI comrades with you on the mission.
The most important thing about the heist itself: The Cayo Perico Heist actually works the same way as in GTA Online: The player must first buy the submarine Kosatka and spy on the island of Cayo Perico from there, as well as complete at least five preparatory missions in order to then go on a big foray.

The most important thing about the installation: Proceed as follows to install the mod:

- Create the folder »scripts« in the main directory
- Unzip all mods and copy their contents into the folder »scripts«
There are also installation instructions on YouTube, just in case. As always, don’t forget to back up your saved data beforehand in case something goes wrong.
What else you should know
Modder helps with problems and questions: At the current time, the mod has already been downloaded more than 2,000 times by HKH191. The feedback from the players is currently quite positive.
The modder himself asks for feedback and suggestions for improvement: In the comments, for example, one or the other player has already encountered problems with which HKH191 quickly tried to help. He also offers to contact him via Discord if necessary.
Will Rockstar take action against the single player mod? The Cayo Perico Mod does not violate the rules of Rockstar, which dictate that mods for their games may not affect the multiplayer modes in any way. Therefore, there should be no danger when used in solo mode.
In addition, HKH191 released a mod in 2019 that made the previous Heists from GTA Online playable in single player. Rockstar has not intervened here either.
