This new Genshin Impact Paimon bug gives him the ability to stay by your side at all times, which is always implied by dialogue and cutscenes, but never seen. He’s not known as the best travel companion for nothing, and with this issue, Paimon can float while traveling from place to place, like all other companion devices currently available in the anime game.

The new Fungus Mechanicus event in Genshin Impact version 3.5 brings back some of our old mushroom friends, but it also comes with an unexpected bug that can be used if you haven’t fully started the event yet. You should be on the scene where Paimon is floating next to two mushrooms in Port Ormos, under a bridge.

For the bug to work you will need to teleport to the waypoint which will take you to the bridge directly above Paimon and the Mushrooms. Then go to co-op and jump to land right on top of Paimon while bringing up his menu at the same time.

If you do this correctly, the character that jumped will likely die and there will be a second Paimon floating next to your head. It will now follow you until you open its menu again. You can leave the co-op and even teleport; she will return to follow you after briefly disappearing.

You can check out this video from Genshin content creator, Mockermay, for a clearer picture of the whole process:

If we’re being honest, Paimon should be able to track us this way now, and it would be great if HoYoverse added the option to turn it on and off like all the other companion devices we have.

Enjoy the bug while it lasts as the event won’t last much longer. You should also support Ayaka, Shenhe, and Mika if you’re interested, as their banners will be up for a few more weeks.
