Fifteen years after the cataclysmic event known as the “Apocalypse”, the world is still in an age of great turmoil. Even Astella, a port city far from the center of the Vallois Empire, is no exception.
Local gangs, slum dwellers, outside forces and secret societies: all of these factions clash over their own agendas and interests. Under such tension, the fragile peace here on Astella is on the verge of descending into all-out conflict.
In the midst of this crisis, a boy and a girl crossed paths. Just then, Sid, who was facing his impending death following a series of unfortunate events, was saved by a girl, Torii, who wields a special power: Chrono.
Chronus, a new species that suddenly appeared after the Apocalypse, has the ability to manipulate time. Once bound to a “Bound” by the mysterious “Chrono Pact”, a Chronus will be able to reach its maximum power as its bonds with the “Bound” grow stronger. Is the Chronus simply a cold-blooded weapon for hire, or perhaps a partner you can trust in your life? The answer to this question has not yet been found. In order to investigate an unusual crime, Sid and Torii embark together on a journey into the unknown. In this complex web of events, every decision made could shape the future of Astella.
Bringing their visions and beliefs, as well as their unique personalities and circumstances, various characters will join Sid and Torii in uncovering the long-held mysteries of Astella. Bond with all races and freely decide Sid’s personality through dialogue and action choices, which will affect the fate of various factions of Astella. Choose wisely who you want to partner with, then act together to weather the looming storm that’s descending on Astella!
“Souls of Chronos” provides players with a classic JPG gaming experience. In addition to action and dialogue options that can determine where the story goes, the dynamic overworld also offers a wide variety of side quests to explore. Complete side missions in exchange for rewards to upgrade weapons or customize your characters. Maybe even something small and insignificant could influence the course of events…
