How to Hire a Specialist in Fortnite

Eight of Fortnite’s current characters are designated as Specialists, and we’ve marked their locations on the map above. As you get closer, you’ll see an icon appear on your minimap and project across the screen to help you locate the specialist’s location. When you approach it, you can interact and follow the recruit prompt to spend 250 bars and recruit them to fight alongside you. To give a command to a hired specialist in Fortnite, simply hold the left directional pad to bring up the follower’s communication wheel. With this open, you can select one of four options as shown in the screenshot above:

  • expect – The specialist will remain in his current position
  • Mover – The specialist will immediately run to the target position
