Eorzea no longer accepts Discover. Square Enix has released an update to its previous guidelines on planned changes to accepted payment methods for final fantasy xiv. According to a message added to the Lodestone community site, the FFX IV payment changes have been updated to include Discover as a discontinued option. The reduction of FFXIV Payment methods will go into effect at the end of February 2023.

In an article titled “Important Notice Regarding Subscription Purchases and Tracking 1”, Square Enix updated the list of FFX IV payment changes. Where Discover was previously seen as a valid option, it is now discontinued in North America and Europe, along with JCB, Carte Bleue and SEPA (or Sofort).

Currently available FFXIV payment methods are:

  • Visa
  • MasterCard
  • American Express
  • PayPal
  • paid by amazon
  • paysafecard

Square Enix reiterated that it hopes to reintroduce some of the discontinued products FFXIV payment methods over time. However, those affected by the changes will want to research alternative methods in the meantime. According to the original announcement, the FFXIV payment changes will not immediately affect users enrolled in a recurring subscription plan. However, those wishing to make changes or updates will need to enter a new payment method if their currently selected option has been discontinued.
